Paradise Landing sure lived up to its name today in what was my best day ever in the yak. I made it to the landing about 1 hr before low on the morning. Only managed a few small shrimp at the landing so I headed on the hunt for bait. Up a small creek I saw a school of something. The cast net managed to get more than a days worth of haden. I kept a dozen or so, hoping to keep a few alive in the bucket, and the rest for cut bait. I managed to find a few more shrimp as well.
I set up on a shell bank and had my lines out. Nothing doing for a little bit. I changed direction of the cast and it was game on. I managed to stumble upon a crazy school of reds. It was one after another on the shrimp. Most of them were in the 3-7 lb range. Here is one.

then flipper showed up not 30ft from me crashing the bait.
but the fish stayed around
It was to the point I was only able to fish one pole, because I couldn’t handle two, lots of doubles. It was like this for a couple hours with the shrimp. Finally, the fish showed some interest in the haden on a float, and I managed another few that way.
I moved on down the water as the fishing slowed and tried a couple more spots. I picked a few more trout, ladyfish, croaker, whiting, and stingray to round it all off.
All in all, probably 20-30 reds, most all just over slot size. No trout keepable though. Off the water around 1:30 and ran into FloYaka at the landing and passed off the few remaining
