9/19 Stono red

I played hooky yesterday to work on my brothers boat so I could get back my garage.
Of course a few hrs in the water wouldn’t deter me from accomplishing that task.

I made a late decision to go, so the flat was already wet and waiting.
I saw one tail right away. It was to be all the tail I’d get.
First cast was perfect. If I was trying to knock out the fish. Spooked it.
No problem. I let my bait sit for 30sec or so. Reel in. Tail’s up again.
This cast I had more open water to cast long and bring the bait to the red.
BOOM! Whirlpool and fish on.

This guy put up a good fight. 32" my biggest yet.

This was it for me, I was in a new area, so anything meant it was a good day.
I also grabbed a dink trout on my way in. Again, new spot. It was off a point I thought would hold fish on the outgoing. I had a couple hits on that spot.

I called the day after 2 1/2 hrs. Got back and finished the bro’s boat. I water tested it late in the afternoon. The 14" AshCraft with a camo motor doing donuts off sol legare was me.

Nice!

It’s always a good feeling to catch fish in a new spot. Well done.

Nice job. That is a weakfish, not a trout, BTW. Very cool.
