9/2 Trying Again

Well we did some chores and errands this morning and then hit the water again, just the grownups and our youngest this time. One hour after high tide, still way high and really strong current. Set up down current from a flat and some grass spots, fished minnows under corks with no success. Hit a spot down the creek that I’d been eyeing since a friend pointed it out on the way past. I switched to split shot and a circle hook and got a couple bites and lost a blue fish before catching my first ever ladyfish. The dang thing almost jumped right into the boat! A few more casts and we moved back to where we fished yesterday. My wife caught a nice blue, maybe 14” which was her first one. Probably in about 2’ of water on the back side of some grass where the water was still. Minnow under a cork. I caught a 9” flounder dragging the bait slowly on the bottom from up current back to the boat on a nice mud bottom that I saw at dead low yesterday. Not as successful as yesterday but we caught a few, had fun on the water, learned a few more things today.

You can have it fast, right, or cheap. Pick two.

Looks like you’re having a great time. Congratulations to both of you.
