9/29 dive trip - Bugs and hogs

With the big grouper still out past the ledge, we decided to make use of the awesome flat calm seas today and head out to get some hogfish and lobsters. Long story short but mission accomplished. Had a great day on the water with the usual crew on Realfish’s boat. Bugcatcher sure does live up to his name. Everyone went home with spiny and slipper lobsters and nice fillets of hogfish.

Erik is the best fisherman on the butterfly jig I know.

In this shot you can barely make out one of several trigger fish that followed these guys to the surface. Jimmy jumped in and shot some since they were hanging out under the boat.

Jimmy demonstrating the proper way to take a fish picture.

Real nice! How do you rig one of those puppy dog jigs, with treble hooks?

That is really nice going on the hogfish and great pictures, where do you guys keep the boat? Is that a Marina or private dock?

That is one nice looking lab you got their, oh the fish is nice to.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

What reef did u dive?

Did u spear any of the fish?

Atta boy!

“The problem that infuriates you the most is the one you are meant to solve.”

Thanks Andy. Yes we shot all of the fish and grabbed all of the bugs while diving on live bottom reefs that aren’t named.

I’ll bet that reef has a name now
