9/9 wading frustration

Thursday evening went out with a buddy to paddle over to some flats and wade on the high tide. Unfortunately the wind kept the tide out and the water never got deep enough in the short grass for them to swim in. They were fairly thick in the tall grass though but very hard to see and even more difficult to cast to. Spooked 1/2 dozen and casted to probably 4 or 5 all of which were uninterested in a twitch bait. Totals for the evening 2-22 oz budfish and 2-22 oz millers all of which were released after about 30 minutes.

Those Miller and Bud fish, what did you use for bait?

I can’t let all my secrets go. All that paddling a man just works up a powerful thirst.

You still fishing over at Kiawah, Cayman? Doing charters?

Yes and not as many as I would like. I have been building my house for the past 5 months which has seriously cut into my time on the water. I am finally at the end (final inspection Monday) so I can get back to more important things. Due to time constraints I have been fishing the kayak for quick sessions 2-3 times a week just to keep sane.

Yeah, same here. I have had a lot of business but due to poor weather have cancelled many trips.Hopefully October will be better.
