Slick flat calm day. The days you live to fish for. It allowed me to turn a nine hour trip into a 12 hour range. Out at 35 knts and home at 35 knts with 4 customers on the boat. That was nice.
So when we get to the spot, there was Phin and MC Marine sitting on the numbers. I asked Phin not to carry that handheld GPS when he fished with me, but I guess he got so good at stealing Skinny’s top secret ebay numbers that he got over on me also:wink:Just kidding. Planned it last night.
Anyway, we started fishing while drifting because there was no wind and no current to develop an anchor course. We picked a few scamp on the drift. When I finally got an anchor course we set the hook and picked away at the scamp and a few snapper. Mr. Cuda AKA ax was a pain all day, so when I could take it no longer we teased him to the boat and free gaffed him. He was done after that.
On the way home we stopped to secure something on the boat and had a sail fish dancing show on top of the water for about 300 yards. No free gaffing there:smiley:
