I have some 9" manns or mirrolures. white body, red heads. Are these too big for striper? What would I expect to catch?
big bait, big fish. Murraymaker uses 15" gizzard shad, won’t get a lot of hits on them, but when you do they are usually big

They are definately not too big. I use big plugs in the summer trolling with the downriggers at night, but I have never had much luck with them during daylight hours. Not sure if they don’t look natural to them during the day or what, but from what I have seen I would much rather use a smaller plug during the day.

There’s a lot of small fish with a big ego out there.
