90 Yamaha

I have a 2004 90 hp Yamaha 2 stroke that has a low speed shudder that clears up when the boat gets on plane. It runs like a scalded dog after thst. Has new plugs. Any ideas?

I have one apart right now for the same thing. I found a lot gunk in the fuel bowls and plugging the small idle circuits. I am waiting for the carb kits to show up now.

The owner had a racor filter and ran non-e gas. He tried the seafoam flush with a 1 gallon can with no good results.

Even non e gas will jell with time. Treatments will help greatly.

big dog

sounds like a carb issue, not likely but always possibility of electrical failure as well

had a similar problem with my 92?.carbs were cleaned and now it runs great.

Clean your carbs, and run that thing. If you have a week where you cant take it out, just toss the muffs on it and run it in your yard for 10 minutes on the weekend. No use is worse than abuse with boat motors, at least in my experiences.

Who said I don’t use it? Take it out every week.

Has it cleared up any? Did you check your water separator, all electrical connections? Sometimes its the simple things.
