still have a carb issue would be my guess
probably going to continue to have a carb problem until you take the completely down and have them cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner
where can I get that cleaner from ? I took them completly apart today and did find a little water in the top of the bottom carb just a drop in that little chamber with the 2 brass stub’s in itsprayed out cleaned and reassembled have not got to put them back on motor yet because it’s pouring outside here but hope it clear’s up soon!!

If you have more that 1 carb, you may need to get a vacumn guage and make sure that the vacumn on all carbs are the same. I had the same problem with mine (4 carbs). I think it has something to do with synchronization (sp). I had some kind of gum up going on. I had to rebuild the carbs, replace the water sererator, dump about 25 gallons of gas. But it runs sweet now.
Brim,
What was the verdict? I seem to be facing the same issue. Mine would only turn 35rpm. After several minutes of encouragement full power was restored, but I am running into the problem at idle again. Carbs were cleaned recently. Any thoughts?
I had almost the exact problem with mine and after breaking down carbs (and lots of troubleshooting) ended up being my enrichment valve diaphragm. Try closing the valve (red switch beside middle carb on mine) and see if it improves. Mine was basically just flowing freely through that valve running the motor too rich. You could also just remove the enrichment valve cover and see if two gaskets and diaphragm are in decent shape.
I believe I am having the same/similar issue with my 90hp Yami 2-stroke. ChrisV rebuilt/cleaned my carbs last year and ran fine. Recently, at idle it seems to cough and shut down, but it doesnt happen all the time. I treat every gallon of gas that I put in with Startron. Would running a mixture of Sea Foam help?
Not if it’s that enrichment valve. Does your #2 carb “leak” gas when you prime the bulb? It’s probably more common that you see your symptoms with a true carb problem (jet clogged, stuck float, etc.), but I would definitely recommend ruling that enrichment valve out. It is very easy and inexpensive to do (two gaskets = 15$, diaphragm 10$).
