A bad start to a good day!!!

I’ll keep this brief, as I’m not in the mood :frowning_face::wink: …went fishing early this morning at first light…hit a common spot in a creek…fished around structure…had Not one…Not two…Not three…FOUR…No no no!!!..BUT FIVE …YES FIVE…Huge redfish hooked up only to LOOSE them ALL to the #&^ #&* $(^&*^( structure!!! :imp::angry: …These reds were big and strong…I could not get them turned to stay out of the @^(%!!!..
However, after slamming rods in the water and cursing about God knows how many times, I decided to head out to the harbor and tie on some wire leader and try for some Shark…Used Cut mullet and ended up with two sharks…(sharpnose, I think…I’m no shark expert)
Although, I had a crappy day of fishing (might should have went crappy fishing, cause I can’t seem to handle the reds :face_with_head_bandage: )…I still had an enjoyable afternoon on the water soaking up some rays and relaxing after a not so good morning!!! :sunglasses:

Sorry about the reds, Bugs! How heavy is the gear you are fishing? I’ve got 2 4000 reels with 50# braid for such occassions (and sharks). Can usually torque down on the drag and horse them with those! My other 3 rods are set up lighter for “normal” fish.
Fish have to win sometimes, too!

That bites but, I would rather have hookups and lose them then just sit there soaking bait all day (done that).

and Id rather hook up and lose them then be working somewhere…c’mon bugs…you know they were males and you were just letting them “off the hook” to go home for fathers day :slight_smile:
