Saltwater Striper Fishing

I just spent a nice, relaxing 3 days at one of Rick’s cottages on the lake. I got there late Wed. morning & left this morning. I couldn’t have asked for a better time.
Rick was there when I arrived & offered to help me launch the boat at Dreher Island & drove my truck back to the property. He also drove my truck to the ramp this morning to help me load up. You couldn’t ask for a better host. After I got the boat tied up at his dock, he showed me some spots on the map to try. His place was very clean and comfortable. I’d recommend it to anyone that wants to get away for a few days.

Now to the fishing…
I fished Crystal Lake on Wed afternoon & Thurs. morning. caught several small fish (10"-14") and a 4ft gar. I decided to go to the elbow Thurs. afternoon. I started with a fat 6 1/2 lb. fish right away, but it was slow. A few small fish & several short strikes. Went there again on Fri. I managed small fish again & a total of 4 keeper fish between 5 and 8lbs. Way too windy for me this morning.

All in all, I still had a great time. Porkchop enjoyed it too.:smiley:
