Fished stono up past metal trades early morning with some success, but the increase of boat traffic as the day went on made it harder and harder to fish so we finally decided to find somewhere out of the traffic…and a little cooler. Roo esp seemed to appreciate the shade, but I’ll have to admit that I kept a wary and watchful eye out for any 'nakes that might be hanging on the limbs above us too:flushed:
(average size of the fish today)
Caught some nice bass today, one that I was never able to come near turning, and that finally cut me off . Would have liked to have at least seen him, had to have been a big fella for sure.
check out this tool shed! I kept looking and looking at it,and saying to myslef…what is it about that shed???..then I realized it is either the cabin/wheelhouse off of a old shrimp boat or made to look like one…now how cool is that!!!
lots of boats out there today…and your usual idiots at the ramp…not “newbies”…just plain idiots with no respect for others plain and simple.
Saw these signs along the entrance to limehouse…sign said that each sign with pic of lifejacket represented a life already lost this year:frowning_face:
reds didnt seem to be real picky on the fresh bait today. I caught some haden and mullet in the cast net, hand some split crabs from my freezer and a friend who hailed us over to his dock, gave us some fat “store bought” minnows when we wen
yeah…it was a nice relief to find a cool place out of the heat and craziness :)…even when the bite slowed we just stayed a while dreading leaving the quietness of it. I would love to have a wheelhouse like that in my back yard…would build me a little “boat deck” around it…maybe make me a hammock out of some shrimp net…have a turned over wood shrimp box with a trynet door on top for a table by it…make me a lamp with a crab basket for its shade…ok-ok…I know enough already
Now that is funny. Sunday my wife jokingly asked if I couldn’t find a shade tree to park under while we fished/crabbed. I laughed and told her that I didn’t know where to find a marsh oak. Seems like you did.
Limehouse ramp got REAL interesting at 6am sunday morning, ended up with a fellow with a bloody nose in the back of a sheriffs car, and no, not me! Holler at me Penn and I’ll fill ya in!
