What an epic day today. Got out to the hole around 9-9:30 AM and immediately scamps started coming over the rail. Then Mutton’s. What? Yes Mutton’s. AJ’s were mixed in all day including an absolute STUD that was in the 70# class. It wore dad slap out!. Then African Pompano started coming over. SWEET! Next fish to come in were more AJ’s, oh wait, that’s not what came up, what came u were good sized full grown Hogfish! This day just keeps getting better! The day started before we could set anchor with a couple 20# bulls hitting the deck on pitch baits. We decided to give trolling a gander and went 1-3 on Mahi. BFT busting everywhere but never got one to bite. Finished by running to get some smaller bottom critters and filled the boxes with B-liners, triggers and other smaller bottom creatures. Only 1 shark all day, what a blessing. It was a full day as we didn’t get back to Remleys til dark. The 3 hour drive back home was not a fun one as I was already the the point of exhaustion. Can’t post photos via phone and too tired to email and upload on computer.
Did a quick upload of pics by emailing small images from phone and doing a quick upload.
I’m simple, so forgive me. Are you saying bluefin were busting the surface or schools of Blackfin? Reason I ask if because we ran way past the hole on Saturday hoping to find Yellowfin and all we found was a waterspout and 6’ + seas.

Blackfin. Glad we didn’t find 6’ seas but the surface chop definitely kept us on our toes.
How much does that hogfish weigh? We caught one a lb off world record and yours looks bigger. The world record came outta Charleston. I had no idea until I started googling one we got to jetties. Otherwise would have never weighed it.
Congrats on such an awesome day! We were out there too but not the results ya’ll had for sure! Love to catch a Hoggfish and African Pom for my boat bucket list, what bait do ya’ll use for them?
