A Day So Bad

That i can only bring myself to talk about it a week later. Last friday the twenty fourth left spartanburg at 2:00 am headed for shem creek… My buddy was having a bachelor party that weekend and were coming in friday night so a few of us decided to get a jump on things and Go fishing. Well it started in mount pleasant. Pull off from a stop light transmission takes a dump. Only got first and third. Limp on to shem creek and four of us push truck, and boat backwards to the water. Im sure that looked very classy. Didnt care was going fishing. Headed out to five hundred feet just shy of the 226. Lost the port engine just before throttleing back to start trolling. Stator went bad, not firing the plugs. So at this point im almost afraid to touch anything i didnt want broke. Anyways found a small forming rip that was pushing inshore. Got first line in. Fish on. The tides are turning. Slinger got slung in the box and lines back in. For the next two hours i watched seven dolphin swim from the rip and nail the short rigger and i watched one dolphin make its way in the boat. My Luck. Trolled four more hours without a hit heading back to the ledge. Picked up and ran to some bottom numbers i had that used to exist no where to be found, 45 min wasted. Headed in to 100 feet and bottom dropped on some awsome looking bottom. Black sea bass, undersize ars. Finally cut losses and run in on a beautiful ocean at 35 mph on one engine. Proceeded to float my liver for the next two days at the bachelor party. Cant wait to try again. Got the truck and boat back up an going. And sharpened every hook i own to lazer sharp.

Maybe it is something that we passed through on I26 coming down from the upstate cause your day sounded a bit like mine. I hope what ever it is it drifted on somewhere else.

Behind this helm stands a sickness that not even a women can cure.

And the trash talking continues.

I think I would have been nervous to push the remaining engine that hard. Had to limp back from offshore before and sometimes you get lucky with some fish to calm the ride.

You would be surpised how hard you can push when you drive down from spartanburg at 2 am with a hard on to go fishing the whole way down.
