Posted a few new pics of some (smaller) snook my buddies and I caught down in Hilton Head, one black drum & a nice red. The Blk drum was the only one caught on bait. Any snook up there in Chuck town? Edited: For Ifly…
Here are a few pics, The rest are here: http://sunrisehiltonhead.com/got-fish/
I edited my post for you Ifly. It’s a lot easier to post a link to one of my blogs than it is to post several urls to the image sources. Here’s one, not doing them all. The CF forum platform is not firefox friendly and I cannot upload images from my pc.
Thanks! I was using a Yo-Zuri mirror minnow for the snook. Think I took a few on top water plugs as well. They seem to hit just about anything a large mouth bass would hit…
Thanks for posting the pictures. Is that a pond snook? looking at the background, it kind of looks like an impoundment. We do have pond snook here but, it’s a bit past the cold line for the snook to stick around for long.
Yea man, anytime. Yes, the snook we catch here are either in brackish lagoons adjacent to the marsh or a marsh fed golf course pond. I’ve never hooked one in the intracoastal. These last two winters were hard on snook and there are very few and they’re all small. I’m setting my sights on Reds and trout for the next few months. Maybe some flounder and a few silverbacks if I’m lucky.

We have some impoundments that hold both fresh and salt water fish. You can catch flounder and large mouth bass on alternating casts. Even have some small mouth bass around.
Thanks man! I didn’t either. Heard a rumor of some guys catching them, went there and caught a bunch, then started catching a few more in another regular red & tarpon pond I always fish. Hope to get free so I can get on some more if it’s not too late.
Wow i did not think we had them here either. I have never caught one but dad says in the everglades they will literally destroy a spook. I have access to several golf course and brackish ponds around Charleston. Think any are this far up?
I’d rather be a free man in my grave than living as a puppet or a slave.
Give it a try. They will definitely hit a top water. I think the climate up there is about the same as here. Someone may have stocked the lake I’m fishing but they are surviving.
