A FISH STORY - UDC - 4/1/13

Robert and his sons, Calvin and Hunter have a story to tell that they will talk about for many years. After catching a couple of keeper Reds, Calvin had a Red hit his rod so hard that it broke the rods holder. We had some serious scrambling trying to get the rod back in the boat. We caught it with another rod and caught the fish too.

Some real smiles that day. April Fool’s Day, but this wasn’t a joke. I’m just thankful to get my rod back.

All caught on live Mud Minnows.

Nice catch, the rod I mean. The spottail ain’t bad either.

-There are two types of fisherman those who fish for sport and those who fish for fish.

Great job Capt. Had a similar “incident” when I was about 12, except I caught the grown-up’s rod with a Jack Crevelle on it about 20 minutes after it was yanked off of the seawall. That family will be telling that story for many years to come.
