A fish tail!

So this is how the story goes,
Launched from the Folly Landing at 6:45am went to the left to the first creek used my new made minnow trap. Good news trap works just needs a few tweaks. Fished up that creek which goes under the bridge just before the one to the landing. Skipping ahead a few paddles. I find myself heading to a flat going toward the light house. Making my way through the grass I came to an open spot with some grass here and there with channels coming out of the grass around me. Made few cast with artificials nothing so decided to use some dead finger mullet. Nothing for awhile so I decided to eat lunch high tide was at 12:49 and its about 1:30. Set one rod out with a float and one on jig head to soak. Just as I start to eat lunch the popping cork rod starts singing. After a little fight got my first redfish on the kayak and first redfish ever. Now for the fish tail. Got him in the net then on the lip grips, hook out and now the part that made my heart drop out of my chest. Reaching behind to get the measuring board I hit the grips open and the fish falls back in the water. So I did not get a pic of my first redfish ever. Was ready to pack it in at that time. Decided to stay and reset moved to a new spot. This spot had four opens coming out of the grass they only way I can think of it is a highway with on and off ramps. Set up the cork with cut bait. Now for the good news. I hear the cork rattle look over and see it go under reeled in the slack and set the hook. After a more dynamic fight had my second redfish the first one at a good guess was about 20 and this one was 27 was a happy camper after that, got it to the yak and photos. Reset again and also set up the other rod with a jig head and cut bait and sent it down the creek about 25 yards get it in the rod holder and the other rod starts making noise from the cork just minnows munching on the bait. Just then the other rod starts singing. Got the other rod in and started the fight, was staked out had to pull it and I got my first sleigh ride

Sorry here is the pics

here is the other 2nd fish.

Congrats! Nothing like catching your first redfish after waiting. I can remember everything about my first red from the setup and line to the exact spot and rig.

Great day on the water - congrats!
