a little morning fishing...

Finished up my third 12 hour night shift last night and when I left work at 0800 as I was crossing the james island connector I called donnie and said…“Pull the boat out…I need a “fish fix” to go with this cup of coffee”. Get home …load up and off we go. Cold and a little windy with water temp of 47-49 and super clear. Nothing hitting the grubs so changed over to some cut mullet and frozen shrimp fished under cork and on the bottom with a couple split shots. Found a few fish around a oyster “bump” as I call them…and around a couple docks. Bite was slow with all fish between 14-21 inches…but fighters for sure. Kept one for lunch and followed a school of dolphins for a little bit before coming home for a nap. What a pretty day out!..and as tired as I was…didnt regret one bit putting that nap on hold:smiley: heres a few pics…

I always enjoy your pictures! Great picture taking!

Good stuff as usual, Penny. That plate of food looks serious!

I noticed your visor in one of the pictures and have thought to myself many times after reading your posts (and enjoying your pictures), she truly embodies “the salt life”. You’re everything that’s good about the Lowcountry.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

This is not right especially with me at work this weekend. nice pixs and man do you know how to ruin a mans lunch. Good catch n Eat!I didn’t know Roo was talented.

Nice work on inshore transition! Been tough for the last couple trips out for us. Going deep for a wahoo try Saturday. Anybody all in?

Beautiful Mrs penny. I like that scaly skin one on FB! I’ve always wondered if that oyster bump was productive in the winter. I’ve been meaning to go back and fish it. It’s good in the summer with corks and I assume topwaters if you can get there early enough

you mean the one about the winter air making my skin “scaley” ??? lol

dang…I got yelled at for that too!! donnie says he has never known someone who can get as muddy and fishy as me

the oyster hump we fished is up in a creek…not the one at the mouth of the creek going into bowens way…but I have caught reds there too. weve been exploring a little more…finding places to get out of the wind.

Thanks blackbart…thats sweet. my sister gave me the visor and a matching tshirt for christmas.

fatrat…Roo is a very talented girl
going deep…if you need somewhere to store some wahoo…lol yall catch em up!

Tell that husband to watch his wedding ring! cold water and grabbing fish over the edge of the boat has a bad memory for me.

Looks like low tide around 3:30 at Grey’s Hill, after seeing your pictures I believe I wants some oysters.
