I have debated on whether or not to post pictures here because it seems that someone always finds a way to make a negative comment. However, I hope that most of you will enjoy these. Lets see if I can figure out how to post them.
Juvenile Bald Eagle
Flying Bald Eagle
This is a picture that could have turned out great but didn’t. This was in July out in the stream. The weather was beautiful with calm see when all of a sudden a lone storm cloud quickly appeared and began shooting off water spouts. At one time there were five coming down from the same cloud. Try to look closely and you may or may not be able to see them. Also, on the way out we saw tons of albies…too bad I didnt have my flyrod

This was a neat little spot that was productive all summer long for trout, reds, and ladies. The real treat was the ladies. Every calm day right after low tide the finger mullet would make their way back into the creek. The ladies would hide behind the oyster bars and rip them to pieces. This picture shows the finger mullet being chased. Fly of choice was a popper as they would not hit anything sub-surface. No problem with me!
This was an awesome day of fishing. The seas were calm and about 1-2 feet so my buddy, girlfriend and I decided to take the flats boat out a few miles to a nearshore wreck. Once we got there we were surrounded by acres of fish busting the surface. W
Fish, I never got a chance to fish the middle fork although I hear it is amazing and beautiful. Last march my buddy and I went floated the main river below Salmon, Idaho for 3 days. Unfortunately, right when we got there a warm spell hit and the runoff muddied up the river and ruined our fishing. Had one steelhead on for a moment but really nothing else except for whitefish. It is a beautiful place though.
Have you had a chance to float the middle fork? I hear the permits are hard to get but maybe if a bunch of us put in for them somebody could get one.

man those pictures are awesome. did you ever fish the middle fork of the salmon river when you were living out west?
i have been lucky enough to fish the middle fork. it was incredible. i had never really been all that excited about fly fishing before that trip but my opinion was changed quickly. now my problem is everytime i go fly fishing i expect it to be like that . we caught a ton of cutthroat and even more rainbows with some in the 24" range. it was an unbelievable trip.
thats too bad about yall’s main river trip. can’t have em all be perfect though i guess. how long did you live in JH?

Have you ever fishing the Selway? One of my first experiences fly fishing was on the Selway over 20 years ago. Been thinking about a trip next year to fish the Selway and the Salmon next spring. Try to make it out west 3 or 4 times a year.

Technical question. It looks like you are fishin out of a Scout Costa. Question is, how did you mount that trolling motor. Mine has a 1" toe rail and I can’t mount one unless I build the deck up to the toe rail. Pictures would be nice-you can send them to me via e-mail. Thanks.

SC, I am indeed fishing out of a Scout Costa. I bought the boat with the trolling motor already mounted so I never really thought about how it is mounted. My boat is in a buddy’s driveway right now so next time I take it out I will send some pictures your way. Hope they help.
