A Wandoful day with the boy

My son has been wanting a man day on the water, so Meg stayed home and we hit the water.

Started hitting grass lines at 6:45 a.m. The boy popped 2 trout, I missed one. A good start!

I wanted to hit a flat early, but I believe it was too early. A.M. high was weak and we sat on the flat about 1 1/2 hours. :sunglasses:Chill time, but no fish. I’ll figure those flats out some day!

Hit the main Wando on falling. Caught a baby flounder and a few reds, 2 for me, one for E-dog.

Headed back down the Wando. It was BRUTAL. SE wind, falling tide, killer waves. Hugged the shore, checked out spots, and slid along.

Hit a dock on the way home I love, but the family HATES!:imp: I’ve caught fish there but it never seems to produce when they are on board. Son never even grabbed a rod. WHAM! I jacked a 28" red. He grabbed a rod then, but too late. Gotsta keep fooshin!

Bounced our butts home in the wind and wake, trailered up and headed for home. Great day!

You know when fish fall from the sky its gonna be a great day! I put the boat in, was parking the truck, and a pelican dropped this menhaden about a foot from my boy! Thanks!

Looks like a great day. I would have much rather been doing that than working. Nice job

Good day, Vin! That 28-incher is a hoss! I’m startin’ to look forward to your posts almost as much as I do Penny’s. Still haven’t heard back from her about the “feet” comment in my last report…

We got the feet. I think so, anyway…

My posts aren’t a sneeze in Penny’s sail!

Well done, Vin! Looks like a great day. Curious, any regrets on the boat change?

Thanks, JI, and no DownLow, no regrets at all. Rougher ride than my old Triumph, but I just go slower. Worth it to fish where I want, how I want!

The fish from the sky is a classic.

Your son will remember that for the rest of his life.

Heck, I will too.
