Turned down a couple offshore trips to take my 4 year old with me. Had a great day and he had a ball except for feeling a little “funky” in the am. Ended up with 8 nice grouper(2 scamps and 6 reds biggest almost 12lbs), one king, and one dolphin. Saw some more dolphin on a rip in 85 ft but could not get them to bite and got hammered by the aj’s and sharks between grouper.
Highlight was talking to some guys in a 18-19 ft tahoe bowrider anchored up 45+ miles from MI, no visible vhf antenna and holding various bottom fish up asking me what they were and if they were any good to eat, the got kinda wide eyed when they held up one and i told them it was a red porgy and they had to be 14 inches with a limit of 3 per person.
