Abacos / Hopetown Fishing

Heading to Hopetown the week of March the 7th.Does anyone have input on what is being caught this time of year and any good charters around the area?

A friend of mine runs/owns this company in Abacos. Check out his info on this link . Lot of fish all year long everywhere in Bahamas, it just depends on what you want to do. Have fun

Have been there twice the same time of year. One year caught bonefish in the Marls with a guide (needs to be calm and sunny) and the other we fished offshore in our rental boat and caught dolphin, tuna, missed a billfish. I think the bottom fishing is also good. Basically you have plenty of options that time of year as long as the weather is nice.

Good luck!

Never fished that far north, love the Bahamas though!!!

Keeping my eyes and ears open…and trying to learn.

We just came back from a two week vacation in Abaco at Casuarina Point. All fish caught wading! Bonefish on the Fly, Bonefish on the Spinning rod. Way cool! Up on the big sandbar we caught many types of eating fish as well, including lots of snappers. You can also get a guide if you want. We all stayed at the Kokomo House at www.abacopalms.com which is our 5th year in a row at this beautiful beach. Clear water, warm sunshine and a boat comes with the house.

Lisa,

What type of artificials did you catch the bones on with spinning gear?
