Here is the boat i was thinking about looking at…
Does anyone know what the hp rating is on one of these boats? Guy selling the boat does not know much about it.
What do you think the steal plate on the transom are for?
So the boat is located in West NC… hours from any water.
If i do check it out and it checks out, i can’t take it out.
Do you think this boat would run well in 3’ seas? Could it handle 4’?
Can get the boat under 14k… seems like a good deal.

If you scroll down the page, the owner states that the boat is 70 h.p. above the rating with twin 125s, so I’m assuming it’s rated for twin 90s, like in the info. posted with the ad. The stainless plates are to reinforce the transoms.
Sorry for the double post, but I can’t seem to figure out how to edit my posts today. Correction, it’s the owners friend stating the info. about the “over h.p. rating”. I’m not sure, but I think you can run into problems insuring boats over the recommended h.p. Gotcha Covered could probably help you with that info. Hope this helps.
Those motors even “look” too big on the back of that boat. The owner probably parked it because it rode like hell, even on a lake, with all that extra weight and HP.

Seems like the 125’s are 50 lb more weight than the 90’s. Think 100 lbs in the rear would effect the ride?
A 90 hp 4 stroke is more than that.
Doubt i am going to get this boat, but was slightly considering it. Progressive gave me some hp formula… and said it was o.k.
Thanks for all the input so far.

I don’t see anything wrong with the rig you already have, except that lonely Miller-Lite, with no ice to comfort him!!
There are lakes all over western NC. You might not be able to find any 4 foot seas, but, you ought to be able to get it wet and make sure the motors run, etc.

Twin 3-cylinder Yamaha 90’s would be perfect on that boat.
