Abu Garcia reel parts?

Anybody know of somewhere local to get basic parts for Abu Garcia reels?

I’m rehabbing a 6500C3, need bearings and level wind pawl at least, maybe some other misc parts if not too much $. Plenty of upgrade/rebuild kits online but I’d rather not go to the net if I don’t have to.

Thanks!

I’ve bought them at Haddrell’s in the past. You might want to call Charleston Angler also depending on where you are located (and how far you feel like driving).

Haddrells still has them. Make sure you get the number that is underneath the bottom of the reel mount, they usually asked for that
to get the right parts because of different year models.

Both Haddrells (mt p and west ashley) have a pretty good stock of ABU parts, and worst case, can certainly order them for you and get them in pretty quick. Worm gears, pawls, etc are all pretty standard stock items at both locations.hope this helps!

Thanks, Hadrells it is!

I’ve tried the Summerville C.A., they have a repair guy they work with that might sell parts but they don’t stock them at the store. Not sure about the other locations.

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>I have some Abu 5000, 6000 and 7000 reels. Even have some spinning reels by Abu. Never had a problem with any of them (the old ones or the newer ones). But… some of my fishing buddies are not so good about reel maintenance as I am and I have had to fix their reels a few times. Hadrells always had the parts. Let us know if they are still keeping up with parts. I’ve got a sack full that I still like to use from time to time.

Steve at Haddrells MtP has parts for almost anything and can fix any reel. He’s the only guy who will work on my reels.

Stopped in at Haddrells west today, had what I needed! I’ve been using this reel for about 15 yrs, and hopefully I’ll get that much more out of it.

We’re lucky to have places like Haddrells and the other local shops, don’t take it for granted. I’ve lived plenty of places where Wal-Mart was about the only place to get anything, and you can’t walk in and get parts for a fifteen year old reel there!

wolfie-Thanks for the kind words, that was Dee Oliver that helped you yesterday.

ol’ Dee is a good guy! He knows something about anything, and has a story to go with it.
