Thinking of taking my boy out to the Hatchery or Duck Pond tomorrow just to throw around the new rod he got for his 5th birthday (Sienna 2500 on a composite rod).

Had thought about getting some minnows and hit the GCR, but remembered that the jacks (chain pickerel) might be active by this point in the shallows up in the Hatchery or the Duck Pond. Almost as much fun as getting into a mess of sea trout when they are active.

Gah, crap. Not about to take my son somewhere that he hunters will be all over the place— no need in risking anything, and no need in mucking up their hunting, even if it were legal. Is this both at the Duck Pond AND the Hatchery, or just the Hatchery?
