Advanced Fly Tying Clinic

I put this in the fly forum as well, but just in case some of yall don’t venture down there…

We are having an “Advanced Fly Tying Clinic” here at the Mount Pleasant Charleston Angler on Monday Dec 12th at 6:30 PM…

this is not a beginners course, so some previous tying experience is necissary, but it is also not a PhD course so you don’t need to be an expert.

Basically I am just going to be going over different types of material, and how to manipulate them for specific applications.

I will go over some different things…

EP fibers (crabs, baitfish, brushes, etc…)
Deer hair (spinning, stacking)
Hackle (splaying, palmering, different types…)
Epoxies (UV cured or otherwise)

and I will keep it as an open forum so if you have specific questions I will do my best to answer them as well…

Hope to see a few of you there… Give us a shout at 843-884-2095 or email me at mike@thecharlestonangler.com to register.

If you are starting to get involved with fly casting this is a good way to learn. For years in Germany that is all i did. When i retired i decided to make my own flies and play around with different patterns.I bought everything and did make some pretty good flies.Later my shoulder gave out to the “RITIS” and i gave everything away.I had many hours of fun during bad weather working fly patterns.I came up with some ugly schitt that did catch trout.LOL I encourage all of you guys to attend this seminar.I gave Stretch the last of my stuff a few months ago.A magnifying light.Gave a kid at my Barbor shop a bag full of goodies also.
