Hey guys, I’ll be heading to Edisto around the first week of April and I’m looking for some advice on tackle and what kind of structure we should fish. I haven’t fished Edisto before and I don’t usually make it down to the coast to fish before June. Any advice would be appreciated.

Many good areas to fish, just be very careful with your depth finder. There are mud / sand flats in places you would not expect. If you are familiar with Google Earth there is a timeline feature on it. You can play with it and see some mapping during low tide. Not sure the size of your boat, but the Sound can get nasty very quick, even on a nice day with just a little wind.
Not sure what you are wanting to target, but a live shrimp under a cork or on a carolina rig will catch most species nearby.

What kind of boat are you bring? Fred67 is absolutely right about the sound getting rough.
In general any rip moving over or around an oyster rake.
In general any structure (dock or trees) that look very old.

We are fishing out of a flat-bottom Carolina Skiff, so the sound may not be our best option.
