Need some advice on a variable scope for an AR. I know that the more you spend, the better the quality. I don’t want a red dot. Looking for a variable low power (something like a 1 X 5). Anybody got any suggestions? Or maybe suggestions on a fixed power? I own some Nightforce scopes, Zeiss and some others, but really can see sinking those kinds of bucks on a 600$ rifle. Thanks in advance.

Get on the SWFA Sample List and start looking. The Leupold Mark AR isn’t a bad little scope at all I paid $199 for mine on there and I’m not a Leupold fan at all for most optics. The Bushnell AR scores are good budget optics too. Nikon has two lines P & M, the cheaper line is awful. The other isn’t bad but not as good as the Leupold.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Nikon M223 is what I have on one of mine. I think it was around $350. Very pleased with it, but it’s set up for distance, not a short range rifle.

Thanks. I ended up ordering a Leupold VX-R 1.25-4X20mm.
