I’m new to saltwater fly fishing, and the last time I did any fly fishing at all was over ten years ago, when I was a kid… with that said, I’m looking at which 8 or 9 weight rod to get. I’ve found a Redington RS2 that is used for about the same price as a new Redington Crosswater… I’ve researched and asked around, and I hear that Redington makes a pretty good rod in my price range (<$70). What would y’all suggest? I think the RS2 was about a $150 rod when it was new, but is it better to get the newer technology of the Crosswater, even though it is a lower-quality rod than the RS2 was? Also, if anybody has something that they’d like to get sell in this price range, I’m interested!
get the best rod you can afford…even if its a discontinued model…the rod actions havent changed all that much and “older” technology is not always bad. Redington makes great rods in that range. if the RS2 has a warranty card, id get it…
