Advice on how to repair teak hatch cover

I cracked the teak cover on my anchor locker ('82 Whaler Montauk).

What are your thoughts for the best way to repair?

Thanks everyone.

I replaced mine with Starboard years ago, wood does not belong on a fishing boat!

Try 2 part Epoxy and clamp it. After it dries sand excess off, but try to put the epoxy in the repair area.

No matter what you do any repair will be visible, unless you remove all the damaged areas and replace it. Then refinish it all. That wouldn’t be any big problem. Wouldn’t be a big problem to build an entire new one either. It just depends on how nice you want it to look. Like new, or patched?

Look up how to glue or bond teak, not a very easy task, and not many glues or epoxy will hold… teak is very hard and oily, almost waterproof by nature, so it does not like most glue or epoxy either. I tried this on my pursuit with teak rod racks and teak cabin doors, with no success, wound up replacing with starboard. It can be done just get the right material for the job first, make sure it is very dry and wipe down good with acetone, good luck

You can buy a new one from Specialty marine for around 115 dollars. The have tons of classic whaler parts

Good advice - thanks for the replies.
