How close do Pompano come during the summer? Is this a species that shows up on the live bottoms in 60-90 ft?

I never looked at that rod til you guys pointed that out but you’re right. Definitely not right. Good catch. I got that AP on the lightest rod in the boat naturally… shimano baitrunner 4500 is what got him.

This is an African pompano which is a deeper water reef fish but Florida Pompano will come into shallow water.
