Started on some structure and picked at the tuna. Couldn’t get baits over them easy enough without being grassed up.
Switched to a dolphin spread and just picked at them until 10:00 and moved offshore. Passed two weedlines but no life on them. Found another slick area with scattered grass and fairly large. Fish showing underneath and fliers getting up out of it. Put the spread back out and started getting triples and doubles every time we could get it back out.
Ended up leaving them biting and not feeling like counting fish to see if we could keep more. At the dock, counted 4 blackfins and 40 dolphin. Crew took two days to get everything all finished up. Think we are a little out of shape!
Last 30 miles back to Murrells Inlet was a bit sloppy. Had to slow the girl down to 30kts to not wake the bean bag riders from their naps.
Good dolphincorymahimauimahidoradogreengoldones still being caught in Florida… along with large Yellowfin’s on the west side of the stream. Stream is pushing in, and there are lots of hungry fish coming. Hang onto your lehisquitches everybody, the gold rush is gonna be epic by mid June!
