Realfish01 won’t let me take off! loaded the boat with fisherman to take advantage of impending good weather! Wow, what a day! a little fog on the ride out but the period and wave hight just got better and better. If you weren’t out today (we didn’t see another boat all day)hope you go sun ,weather was awesome! water temp has come up with the surface temp @ 72 and the bottom was 69deg! viz was 30/40’, first dive and got worse as the day wore on. tide was cranking and all our dives were anchor dives, but the fish were there.
ended up with our limit of 15/20lb gags, a very nice scamp, two lobsters and a good hog. we shot a few other bottom dwellers and saw a whale up close.
awesome day today and left many gags to live another day. lots of life on the reefs today and may get one more trip if the weather holds!

Well done guys. It’s awesome that you saw a (right?) whale up close. We dove on Sunday but I didn’t have my dive camera so I didn’t take any pictures worth posting. The current Sunday was fine on one dive but by the last dive it was apparently impossible to swim against. Left a big old lobster down at the end of my dive but got a compass heading from the marker for the next divers but they couldn’t swim against it to get the bug.
On an interesting note, around 1:45 a squall line pushed in on us fast and lit up the radar. It got cold and started to rain hard and the wind was blowing things off the deck. We saw a skiff <20’ long with three guys on it fishing for grouper and they didn’t have their radio on. Since they were 30 miles out and it was getting nasty we stopped by and offer to run in with them but they said they were fine and kept on fishing. Hope they made it back OK.
I also have a quick clip of the gag I shot. Not only does Bugcatcher put us on the great dive spots, he also shows us where the fish are so we can shoot them!!!
