After a 5 month break we finally got to start fishing. We ran up to the South West banks today. Water was 65 to 67.4 degrees. No flying fish or fish busting. We trolled around there all day. Ended up keeping 17 blackfins and released a small small. Entered 2 into the trident. Ocean was flat calm. Fished seemed to like the green and black all the way back. No wahoos or dolphins or anything else. I guess we were lucky to get what we got. Going tommorrow and Wednesday. Maybe thursday. Only bad news is water is pushing south hard. 226 Hole should be good the next couple of days.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up and loudly proclaiming, “WOW! What a ride!”
Sellsfish,
Please fill me in on whose as been catching them all winter. There is one stick boat out of mcclevelle who has been bottom bumping. I appreciate all info and reports that I can get. The last report from a charter or commercial boat was the full pull in december. If you have other insight and knowledge good for you. I would love to hear any knowledge you obtain and share whatever I info I get. Any knowledge is good for all of us. Some days you catch them and some days you don’t. Yellowfins should show up soon. Maybe tomorrow. Each day is a new day and you can’t catch them sitting at dock.
Again just curious on who as been catching them all year. You can email me if you want. Thanks and good luck when you go. cacth them up.
Thanks to Captain Michael for posting accurate information on a regular basis. many of us enjoy your reports and hope you continue to do so.
