Air Force

We went to Edisto Banks on Tuesday from Edisto. Slow fishing, only bonito. On the way in we were buzzed at low altitude by a F-22 Raptor. It came back low like it was attacking us and then accelerated upward. It was an unbelievable show. 2 low runs toward us. Anyone else have this experience?

Had a couple of F-16s pass over head just above the trees while fishing the Edisto river, scared the daylights out of us. Up at Jacks Creek an A-10 did a run on us while my buddy ( in the Air Force ) had his back to the plane and didn’t see it coming. I didn’t say anything to him either so when he finally heard the plane all he said was " #$@#@+ A-10 #@%^$# pilots "

Happened to us a few times. The pilots love to do it. Scares the crap out of you when you feel like they are 10 feet above your t-top!

Someone once told me you go out on the water to escape reality, so I thought about it and said no, I get on the water to find relaity

My Dad used to tell stories of flying from Pensacola to Key West at what they called “wave top” height. He said seeing all the sharks in the water used to unnerve him to no end.

my dad and I were sunrise fishing a creek next to the dredge spoil dike wall on the South end of Morris Island and the mosquito plane came from over the island, right over our boat…free bug repellant and scared the crap out of all 3 of us, I could see it in his eyeballs…

When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

It doesn’t happen often enough…

Used to happen a lot, like 20 years ago. I have heard they don’t let them do it anymore from a friend who flies jets. It’s so awesome bc you are not used to having something sneak up on you like that bc most things in daily life don’t travel faster than sound.

I don’t think it was an F 22 from the Air Force. I strongly believe it was an F 35 from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. Also it is about a 90% chance it was a Brit doing the flying.

Thanks tanksgt. Looking at your username you must know more about it than I do. Thanks for your service

I was a loadmaster on the C-17 for quite some time and we have a low-level route that starts at EB and comes up to Sullivan’s, these low levels are 500 feet AGL (above ground limit) and if you throw in a hard bank it looks a lot lower. I always enjoyed being in the cockpit and taking a peek at certain boats out there.

Interesting timing on this as we had what looked like an F-35 come in slow and low over Sullivans/ICW/Mount Pleasant area Saturday early afternoon. Sounds like they may have been on that route.

We used to get “shot up” by the A-10’s while running our tractors on our farm near Jefferson !!! Scared the crap out of me more than once !!

I remember listening to the call from the guy on his boat. He said someone was dropping bombs on him. Scary https://www.postandcourier.com/news/ntsb-releases-moncks-corner-jet-crash-report/article_b33f7c56-a048-11e6-9a32-6b6466c088e8.html
