Alaska...bears on the Russian

I took my oldest daughter up to Alaska and we spent 10 incredible days taking it all in. Going to start off with a couple of bears on the Russian River. These two were just horsing around but it sure looked real from 15 yards away. We had some even closer and I will put those up later. The bears ignored us, whether we were fishing or shooting pictures. All we got was a sideways glance or two, like they were keeping tabs on US! Notice all the sockeyes in the water, more fish pictures coming too.

I bought her a Nikon D5000, a 200mm telephoto and all the filters before we left town. We took somewhere around 4500 pictures and I will get some more up as soon as I sort them out and figure out how to group them.

Incredible, I’m jealous. Never seen anything like that firsthand. Glad you got to experience it with your kid.

Great pics. The salmon in the background is an extra treet.

That’s pretty cool right there. Nice set. Looking forward to the others.
