Just wondering if anybody has a recommendation for a light that attaches to the poling platform. I think I would like a folding one but would be open to any suggestions. Thanks as always.

Just get a really short one and mount it upside down under the poling platform. west marine sells one that is about 3 inches tall. works great and its out of the way and you dont have to worry about flipping it up and down everytime it gets dark.
I think the regs state that the all around(anchor)light should be on top or above the highest point on the boat. If you mount it below the platform it would be easier to block the light, therefore making it harder to see from the front. I’ve always used a 6" fold down light, mounted on the back, on the platforms I’ve built. I’d just rather be legal. Besides, it only takes less than a minute to flip it up when it gets dark.(Like once a day)
Just my 2 cents worth.

I have also installed ‘small’ LED style dome lights that are very low power, but Bright.
They can be mounted on a flat surface of your choice(amybe the rear edge of you rplatform, etc) and not be in the way. Have had them on my engine covers for years, but my engine’s were also the highest point of those boats…
