All the reds were cruzers today. Didn’t see one tail. Water was clear and the surface was glass. Pulled up and quickly spotted a wave. The fly landed 5 inches from his nose and he gulped it. Stuck his nose in the mud a plowed my line under the grass. My rod was facing one way and the fish was heading the other. Felt like I was tarpon fishing. Horsed the line free and released him boat side. Looked like 25".
Moved up and saw more waves. Waited til he was 25 yards away and loped it right in front of him. Water was crystal clear so I watched him sight it, charge it, and the fight was on. Wasn’t staked out so he pulled me a good ways. only 28 inches but, he had lots of fight. Waster was running out and it was HOT!!! No wind.
Caught this one at about 11AM today (clock is wrong on my camera). Soooo now I am off to get the next door neighbors pool water on me and some Mexican beer in me!
