72 is the channel chosen by MSC as the ‘club’ channel. There will be folks on it. 68 and 69 seem to be the most popular ‘public’ channels. i tag 68, 69, 71 and 72 for the scan. guides used to use 71, but cell phones have pretty much replaced the radio chatter. good reports in the major creeks around the elbow and crystal lake area.

I hear reports about the bass guys getting striper while throwing crank baits on shallow points. as shallow as 2’ in two reports. Seems as soon as I start to put a pattern on them they change. i need to fish more, once per week is not enough to stay on them except when they are predictable in the summer. I’m moving on to some crappie for now.

I have had the same problem in keeping track of where they are. Had heard they were way up the lake last week. Went up there Saturday but couldn’t find them. Water was really muddy beginning between Bomb Island and Dreher and going up the lake from there. Worked my way back down towards the Spence Islands and picked up one in clear water. Saw alot of birds but none of them were working bait. I heard of some others catching a few close to the ■■■■ and Spence Islands.

Planning to stay in clear water this weekend and get out there early tomorrow morning.

Any thoughts? or other reports?

Any luck on sat?

When I got caught with my hand down my pants at school, I had to keep it there for a week…what a week!!

None for me. I got out late and fished upper lake. I never had a single hit. I was fishing for crappie and stripers. Marked a lot of fish in the channel of clouds creek but could not get a single hit. I never do good when it is clear and windy though. Guys crappie fishing in the day got a few, but nothing like the previous week.

tom; maybe the next time you might want to go where i suggested. muraymaker did and now i cannot get him away from my fishing holes. LOL LOL really though; check and see if you can go this sat. jeremy is taking his wife to charleston for a surprise birthday and concert with brad paisley. i need a fishing partner.

now now! you told me to keep quiet and i have…lol…and i was fishing a little lower than you…ahahahah but i can not thank you enough for putting me on an area where the fish are…thank you. seems to me word travels fast through people though. even on a monday there were at least 20 boats in the area. malfunction junction of lake murry. lol.

i’m fishing out of dhrer island state park next week. what was the water up that way if yall know? slarity wise and temp that is.it would be a big help.

we all were fishing the little saluda. i had a water temp up there as low as 46 and as high as 50 since saturday. today it was mainly 47 never went over 48 but i was only there till about 1230. and water up that way is muddy and is full of trash. haven’t fished dreher in about 2 weeks and water was just a little stained up in the back of crystal lake by bucks marina or whatever it is called now. but that could have changed since then which i am sure it has.

murraymaker; unfortunately it is really not a secret anymore up that way. 15 years ago it was not unusual to have only a few boats in that area. seems like the way of fishing has changed and now; EVEN A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT! tightlining is an easy way to fish though. you have plenty of time to drink your beverage and eat a pack of crackers. glad you cut their butt yesterday. i hope that i can take a weekday morning or afternoon off shortly and go. maybe we can hook up.

thank you for the heads up. i’m going lmb fishing with my father on monday of next week.

i fished around Dreher to the cables and up Adams creek and only had one fish…and i lost it! i still feel like im gonna puke:frowning_face:. it was the only bite i had, under some diving gulls. the water temps were around 45-47. hooked up in 32’. i will be back asap for a little redemption beat down
