Chunky Dunk, the Judge, Hairy, Whaler buddy and a few others took the boat north against the advise of 23Sailfish to the cooler waters. I had to stay home and work since I missed the previous Friday due to Skinneej’s offshore adventure. The bite was pretty constant. Had a few wahoo cut offs, short strikes, and a missed opportunity here and there but all and all not bad.

Sounds like the cudas are here as well. 
Rumors of poor gaffing by an experienced angler have been floating around quite a bit. But the fish were boxed when it counted.
One of the Hoos tried to dump a 50 wide Avet but with Chunky on the rod the fish was whipped and actually skiied in the last 100 yards. (he might run and jump but he don’t play)
Weather was alittle choppy but not a bad way to start the season.

Have not recieved the repair bill yet but in 2 trips this year we have 13 grouper, 1 hog, 3 flounder, a trigger, 3 lobster, 2 tuna, 2 wahoo, 2 dolphin, a new trailer, new port side foot, 300 gallons of gas, plus what ever it costs to get the starboard bank of spark plugs to start firing again.

What kind of trailer did you get? I’m in the market for a new one becuase the Float On I have sucks really bad. Boat came loose pulling out and messed up the skegs on both brand new F200’s.
Good catch for you guys. Where did you run out of?

I can work you a deal on a triple axel trailer rated at 10,800lbs if you want. May be bigger than what you need but it was a touch to small for my boat. Wanting to go to the keys this year and did not want to chance it.

My boat ready to fish is around 11k. The GSVW for the trailer is 10.8K including the weight of the trailer. I did not want to run into issues with the law or take any unnecessary risks with it. It is aluminum, has disc brakes on 2 axels, all 3 axels are torsion, 2 jacks, carpeted wood bunks, and guide posts. It is an 2004 or 2005 model (will have to check) I was going to post pics once I got the chance but everything is so hectic it has not been 1st priority. Shoot me an email if you want to come see it.
