Friday’s weather forecast was to nice to refuse so made a few phone calls and had a pro style crew pulled together in no time. Brianh got a head start Thursday afternoon and help Chunky and Haywood get the All Rise fueled and iced for a 4am departure. Pross and i rolled into town at 11:30 just in time to take a 3 hour nap.

Cleared jetties and headed toward our spot. Pushed the throttles to 4500 and let the Auto pilot do it’s thing!

Crew took in a power nap and before you know it time to troll. Ran over a number I got from one of LSK reports and BAM!! 3 rods go down, then 2 more! Then one by one they start going slack. WAHOO are cuttin our butt! Brianh kept his glued on and fought him to the boat. The fish was NOT cooperation, back and forth across the transom. Crew did a great job clearing rods and helping him out but the wahoo was having none of it. Finally got him boat side,

Chunky swiped with the gaff, GET HIM!! and the fish shot under the hull and into the motors! Chunky yells, SHUT OFF THE MOTOR!! I was to late.:roll_eyes: Fish broke off, line wrapped in prop… Well that was not cool… took 20 mins to get it straight.

Finally got back to it and the bite was steady. LOTS of toothy critters! Went through TONS of rigs. Need to run my Atlantic Game and Tackle and restock!

Couple of multiple hookups lot of multiple cut offs. Crew was great and we did not miss anymore gaff shots or run over anymore lines.:wink:

Finally late in the day Mr Wahoo shows back up and SMOKES the reel. Pross jumps on him and the battle begins. Worked him up to the transom and Pross yells to Chunky WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, Chunky had seen to many pulled hooks to day and stepped onto the swim platform and shoved the gaff deep into the water. It was like slow motion as he grunted and came back into the boat? You got him?!?! Over the door comes a Chunky Dunk and a PISSED off Wahoo!

Nice wahoo,hate you got cut off so many times though they are hard enough to get into the boat when everything goes right.Nice-going!!

They seemed to like the fluro over the wire. We added wire to the spread but I guess they could see it cause they would hit the fluro baits around it. I have some ideas though. Will be better prepared next trip.:wink:

Them Cudas are cuban Wahoos down south. At least you gave those fish that got away a toothache!

My phone didn’t ring again! nice weather for sure this past weekend.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
