Since you asked
Tuesday, we had a very green crew. They were all very eager to learn but were not familiar with our setup or spread. It was just myself and the judge to run the spread and he spent most the time talking to and cooking for everyone. (I let him read A-fish-a-knot-os post and told him we could not be out done like that:wink:) Chunky typically runs the spread but was not on board.
At the time we were trolling all 10 rods in a beam sea. The lines were blowing across each other, I had to be very careful to keep things staggered so that we would not get another tangled mess. The first sail hit the short port rigger and proceeded to scream toward the long starboard rigger. I set the hook and gave the rod to one of the boys so that I could start clearing lines. Everyone else fell in to help clear but we had some crossing over and under to keep the fish out of the other lines. The judge was working in the WB rod when the second sail hit it. They both started jumping as the crew danced over and under each other to keep the lines coming in. All lines are in the boat. 8 rods in the cockpit and 2 fish on. Part of the crew had to put rods in the holders on the T-top and behind the leaning post. The rest had to go to the bow and put rods on the bean bags and forward rod holders. The anglers needed fighting belts and hwilcox need some instruction on driving the boat as this was his first double hook up while trolling. The way back sail made it to the boat first and was quickly released. The short rigger sail was bigger and took a few minutes longer to get to the boat. Photos were taken, he was released and rods were redeployed. Tasty beverage was consumed and
