since it looks like the SBO won’t take place, this would be cool. I’d vote for an aggregate scoring system like the SBO used.

Count me in with big-daddy and gumshoe… we’ve got a pretty decent team up this way.

If I could make a suggestion (I think skinnee or greg already hinted at it): let’s keep a 130 ft. depth limit on this thing. Those of us without the ability to dive the ledge would be at a major disadvantage to Rob and some of those guys.

I got an idea…

  • lets all dive the same spot. some people dont have a lot of gps numbers.
  • Some have faster boats than others... we should limit boat speed to 17kts
  • not everyone is nitrox certified, everyone should dive air to make it fair.
  • We should all shoot the exact same model of speargun.

Let’s tie everyones hands and then see who’s best! Then we can have a really bland competition. :clown_face:
Just giving you guys a hard time, it doesn’t matter to me one way or the other but wouldnt everyone like to see some incredible stuff come into the weigh in?

We should probably continue this off the reports section.

OK, OK… point taken. I agree that I’d love to see some big fish at the weigh in, but hate playing for second place. Maybe we could handicap the depth in some way…

Truth is…if those guys go dive the ledge then they’re going to have longer Deco obligations and longer surface intervals.

If we use the points system, one big fish can’t win the whole thing.

They may go deep, but they also may run out of time.

That's not the same thing. Are you asking us all to jeopardize our lives to get the "big one"? We are only PADI certified to 130'. We don't have the training, certification or experience to go deeper. If you didn't think diving at the ledge wouldn't create some kind of significant advantage, then you would never dive there. Why spend 7 minutes in 180' when you can spend 45 minutes in 90'? You tell me :smiley: I think I know the answer though.
