Finally found a weather window to take the maiden trip of the reworked All Rise. The forecast looked marginal at best and when my cat buddies saw the impending beam sea backed out at the last minute. I scrambled to fill there spot and knew just who to call, Whaler buddy and Right RX. Both of which I knew would not be scared of a little wind and waves.
Well… the weather man BLEW the forecast thankfully. Instead of 4 to 6 we got.
Could not have been much nicer weather. The new motors ran great but I will admit I missed the sound on the OX66s a tad.
Well we left Manning at 2:30 and were in the water by 4:30 lines in around 7 at the hole. Had a couple of knockdowns early and boated a decent blackfin. It got VERY slow after that. We found some good live bottom and Whaler buddy jigged up a little tunny and broke another off. Tried the troll alittle longer catching a nice king, and another tunny. Needing to add some meat to the box we hit some of Phin’s best GT numbers and added a few BSB and other bottom dwellers. Was not what I was hoping for bite wise but still had a great time. It was a good shake down trip for the new electronics and motors. I have a few tweeks left to make but all and all everything went well.
Ended with
1 BFT
2 Bonita/little tunny/whatever you call them
1 King
A few BSB, porgies, sharks, and the other bottom dwellers.
Highlights:
It was nice to be treated with a flat ocean when i was expecting a nasty one.
My boys on the Full Pull for floating me some lime juice so that we could enjoy the BFT at sea. The Judge had been talking about trying their recipe all week and left the lime juice on the counter. Thanks Captain Ed and JW!!
Getting to use the new baits I bought in GT, “CEKs”, while my numbers were not high they out fished everything else on the boat.
Watching Whaler buddy fight his fish on the first rod ever made. His trusty old yellow rod. It is ugly but caught wa
Nice job. You’re going to like that Ray machine once you get the hang of it.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

And the yellow rod catching more fish than the others is no exageration I’ll bet. I’ll even bet that it wasn’t really that rod but rather that angler that caught all the fish.
Congrats on getting out Scountin
You will get used to the motors and the sound or should i say lack of sound. those 250s will treat you right. Good pics looks like a good time.
