Made our annual family vaction trip last week (Jun 13-20) and could not have had a better time. Weather was perfect everyday minus a the afternoon thunder bumpers and we made the most of it. Had alot of friends and family come down to fish and hopefully paid back some of the debt we owed to them for all the favors over the past 12 months.
Monday:
Back in the good ole days all we did was spadefish then along came the bigger boat and we left our roots to sew new ones. But the Judge has never forgotten the good ole days and always looks forward to getting after them again. Monday we found the fish but did not have the proper tackle to catch them. Only boated 1. But we knew where they were and would be back for round 2.
Tueday:
After a visit to the tackle store we were ready. Chunky, the Judge, and I headed out to the spadefishing grounds for a few hours of fun. Ocean was flat and we ran 4800 rpms listening to the radio. The fish were there and we were ready. The details get sketchy at this point but with a look in his eye I have not seen in years the Judge put on a clinic and we quickly filled the box. Chunky and I had to take his rod from him as we knew we would end up cleaning all the fish. I wonât post a number just trust me when I say we got on them pretty strong. Gave us enough fish to feed the friends and family for the rest of the week. And NO, none were wasted or will be freezer burnt.
Wednesday
Nasty early morning thunder storm kept us in. Hind site being 20/20 we should have stuck with our plans to troll. Instead hung out with the kids and did a few odds and ends on the boat. Did have fun playing with the little guy and my daughter. Canât wait till they are old enough to fish with us.

Sounds like a plan!
The bottle cleaned up really nice! It has been a hit at work. We need to go back and find some more. Surely there is a treasure chest full of gold on it somewhere.

I was wondering what yall were doing back in Oyster Cove. I live further back on around the corner from the house you guys rented. Phenomenal week fishingâŚ
Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, donât tell them where they know the fish.
