Alligator Hunting- Middle Coast

A friend and I were drawn for our first tags this year. We were selected for the Middle Coast region and have never hunted for gator before. We plan on taking a few scouting trips to see what there is to see, but if anyone has an idea of where we can find ourselves a few maneaters, I would appreciate the advice. We plan on going to the training/information session offered by DNR on August 11th to make sure that we end up eating gator instead of getting eaten by a gator.

it’s not rocket science by any means. go during the day & use a treble hook with the spinning rod technique. I’ve done it the past 2yrs & got a 12’5 & 11’6(he woulda been bigger but was missing 18in of tail). i got both in the cooper river
