Almost gigging...

Daddy and I were hoping to go gigging last night despite the SW wind that decided to kick up its heels! And the threat of a thunderstorm…but as it turned out we had more than the weather against us.
You know they say “things come in threes”. Lol. Well this has, as my mom said…a week of triple thirties…or so it seemed… for them:smiley:.
It’s been like this:
Ice maker flooded the inside of the refrigerator in their house…no…that wasn’t daddy running the hose she heard.

Crab pot puller quit…no…not me…the real one:smiley:

Daddy dropped the whole thing on his foot…busted his foot :stuck_out_tongue:real good.

His “fad-a- meter” quit. (fish finder)

Dead battery in boat next day…wouldn’t crank…had to get new one, another lost day work.

Golf CArt mom drives to work up at the church…died…

Gigging day…daddy goes to outside shed…ewww…what’s that?? Freezer. Dead. Frozen food doesn’t hold up well in this heat:frowning_face:

We arrive at their house to find multiple containers of stuff to go to dump…and mom mopping the floor and trying to smile…did I saying trying…? Well she was.

Go to try generator…doesn’t want to stay running…not to worry…brother in law says “here. Just take my Honda one”

Cool!!

That done…we load the boat…despite the wind…and off we go.

Running lights fight us a little at first…

Take off from the dock…what??? No power…carb issue…??

Ahhhhhh Mann…

Not to be defeated…daddy pulls the cover off…and starts to fiddle around…

“I feel as if somethings got it in for me” he says.?..and despite his always positive outlook…I hear a little weariness in his voice.

" just the devil trying to play tricks n us" I say…“and we are better at this then him…so he can’t win”…I remind him with a laugh! " think positive"!

I look up at the moon peaking behind the clouds…and whisper a few pleading words… Ok…so can we have a little help here to go with the faith I smile and say…

Penny, when all else fails, you can ask Stono, if you can fish with him, off his dock:smiley::smiley::smiley:
