I just finished installing new marine grade carpet as we speak, in a ‘79 16’ Fisher Marine Jon Boat. I must admit it looks better than new! It had that old style astro-turf junk before. I tore it out last Sat and installed the new yesterday, and just finished with installing seats, trolling motor, and accessories.
I bought the carpet at the Jockey Lot for $15.00 (6’ x 22’). I also bought a 1 inch x 42 inch x 84 inch, skid resistant mat, for the main floor there for $12.00. Lowe’s price was around $85.00 for roughly the same amount of carpet. I like carpet for the sound resistance it delivers, but good luck whichever way you decide!! Seeya, Scott

Nautolex instead of carpet.
It is very durable and looks good.

I just finished restoring my 1974 14’ duracraft and used U-Pol Raptor spray-in truck bed liner ($150 comes with spray gun and 1 gallon of paint). Can get black or tintable. I’ve fully camo’d the boat since this picture, but don’t have an updated pic at work. I had indoor/outdoor carpet and it caused the paint under the carpet to deteriorate and peel. Before and after:
