Aluminum Fuel Tank Fabricator or Supplier?????

Posting this for a friend.

Need to replace both fuel tanks in a 25’ Sea Cat. They are 100 gallon tanks.

Can anyone please make a recommendation as to the best option for these tanks? Should we take out the old ones and let someone use them as templates to fabricate new ones? Or is there a commercial option that would be better?

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Looking for the best option, not necessarily the cheapest.

Thanks in advance.

www.speedytanks.com will build any size custom tank you want, and have the files on many production boats. Prices run roughly $10 a gallon, but might be less for tanks that large. I’ve never had one made over 50 gallons and it was about $500 plus $100 shipping. Send them a drawing of dimensions and where you want all the fittings, and you will have it in a week or so. They’ve built about 7 for me and do great work.

Just measure the old tanks and give them them the dimensions. There are a few tank builders out there and speedytanks is good. 100 gallon tanks should run about $800-900 plus shipping. I had a few 90 and 100 gallon tanks priced out for my Makos in the shop.

Sunshine in Fla built mine 4 yrs ago. 118 gal, 3/16" aluminum ~ $750.

My old Henry O originally had a tank built by RDS. When I pulled the old tank out, the label was intact. I was able to call RDS with the drawing number. They still had the drawing and built a new ‘OEM’ tank. I had the put a couple of coats of cold tar epoxy on it. 'Should be good for another decade or so… I hope.
