I’m going to replace the anodes on my F150. Ive gone on line and seen Zinc recommended for saltwater, and aluminum for brackish, what do y’all use?

Aluminum is what I have and seems to be the recommended anode for steel/bronze/aluminum parts needing to be protected in salt and brackish water. If you trailer your boat from time to time make sure to knock the white crust off.

I am not sure what the Yamaha anodes are made from, but I don’t think its aluminum.
probably a zinc/ magnesium alloy.
if they were aluminum, they would have the same characteristics of the motor, and that wouldn’t be good. they are designed to dissolve and keep the motor secure.
Motors are really expensive, in comparison, anodes are cheap, put Yamaha parts back on your Yamaha.
